Professional Services
Convenience
We know that you have a busy schedule. That's why we do everything we can to simplify your visits to Irvington Pet Clinic. For convenience, you can arrange to drop off your pet as early as 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. We also have extended office hours until 7:00 p.m. on Monday and Thursday.
Surgery
We are pleased to offer laser surgery for safe and comfortable treatment. In many instances the laser replaces the traditional use of a scalpel. By using a laser we are able to perform surgeries with less pain, bleeding and swelling. There is also a reduced risk of infection because the laser sterilizes as it removes tissue. Your pet will recover faster and be able to return to normal activities with less discomfort. For additional information please contact our clinic.
Pre-Anesthesia Bloodwork
Our clinic believes that it is vital to run blood work on your pet prior to any procedure requiring anesthesia. This is a required part of any procedure and is built into our surgical pricing. Testing can significantly reduce medical risk and ensure your pet's health and safety. If your pets blood work does not fall within normal ranges, we are able to alter the type of anesthesia used or address a more severe medical issue. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. We are more than happy to help you understand the importance of this testing.
Dental Care
Protecting the teeth and gums is as important for your pet as it is for you. Your pets' teeth should be examined and cleaned on a regular basis. Our specialized services include pre-anesthetic bloodwork, ultrasonic cleaning, polishing, digital dental x-rays, as well as tooth extraction and oral surgery when necessary. Preventative dental care through plaque reduction is practiced by the use of a variety of enzyme based products. We are proud to carry Oravet Barrier Sealant, C.E.T chew bones, Tartar Shield rawhides, biscuits, and dental tabs, as well as Hill's Veterinary Prescription diet - t/d. Occasionally the use of antibiotics will be neccessary.

Dietary Planning
A sound diet is vital to the health of your pet at any age. Your pet has dietary requirements that are essential for proper weight maintenance, performance, growth, and as an aid in the treatment of some diseases at every stage. We carry Iams Veterinary Diets and Hills Prescription Diets, the top lines of pet prescription foods.
Regular Health Examinations
Periodic checkups can be reassuring if no problems exist and are important in detecting medical problems at an early stage. The care which starts with a puppy or a kitten can pay extra dividends as your pet becomes older. Any dog or cat over the age of 7 (5 years for large breed dogs) is considered a geriatric patient. A geriatric blood panel is the best way to monitor your pets overall health and help identify problems before they become serious.
